The Medicine Wheel: foundational teachings to live life in a good way

The Medicine Wheel is one of the most enduring teachings shared across many North American Indigenous nations, particularly among the Plains and Great Basin peoples such as the Lakota, Blackfoot, Cheyenne, Cree, and Ojibwe. While each nation holds its own colors, directions, and meanings, the universal essence remains the same: life moves in cycles. The Wheel offers a way to understand the seasons, the elements, the body, and the spirit as interconnected forces continually transforming one another. Although many global traditions - from Ayurveda to Taoism to Celtic nature rites - also follow cyclical cosmologies, the term “Medicine Wheel” specifically reflects Indigenous North American wisdom. In this work, it is honored with respect, humility, and acknowledgment of its sacred origins.

This is not a direct teaching from a certain lineage, yet a woven tapestry from the various teachings I’ve gathered over the years. This cyclical framework is the foundation of my teachings because it mirrors the oldest technology on Earth: nature’s rhythms. My retreats, online programs, and seasonal containers follow the arc of Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, integrating the lineages I’ve trained in; yoga and tantra, Ayurveda, somatics, psychedelic integration, traditional indigenous knowledge, and wilderness-based healing; into a unified, nature-led path. The Medicine Wheel is the compass: a reminder to descend in Winter, rise in Spring, expand in Summer, and release in Fall. Through this lens, we remember how to live in harmony with the land, our bodies, our hormones, our nervous systems, and our creative / purpose cycles. These teachings help us return to the ancient truth that transformation is seasonal, embodiment is cyclical, and healing is a spiral; never linear, always alive.

Through yogic wisdom, seasonal somatics, plant medicine support, science, nature-based practices, and ancient holistic knowledge you’ll move gently through your own inner winter during Earth’s winter season— restoring your energy, strengthening your intuition, and preparing your creative life-force for the spring cycle ahead.

Weekly Winter Curriculum

Each week includes a theme, movement or somatic practice, plant medicine guidance, body science, personal & professional guidance, and nature-based ritual.

You’ll explore:

  • Dream incubation + inner visioning guidance

  • Nervous, Urethral, & Skeletal systems understanding & nourishment practices

  • Finding balance through the micro & macro cycles of life

  • Learning how to balance hormonal winter (menstrual cycle, menopause, & testosterone reset)

  • Shadow work + meaning-making exploration & integration

  • Winter relationship dynamics & polarity exploration

  • Winter nourishment, herbalism, & seasonal nutrition

  • Exploration of the West, Water, & the Bear totem

  • Mantra, humming, and sound healing

  • Introduction to the 8 Limb Path

  • Plant medicine as our allies

  • Grounding movement, meditation, and breath work practices for winter season

  • Slow purpose work + grounding into your purpose

  • Exploring & integrating more sustainable ways of living on Earth

This Winter journey is one part of a full four-season curriculum that moves around the Medicine Wheel. Each season has its own online program and its own in-person retreat, allowing you to work with the natural arc of descent, emergence, expansion, and release throughout the year. Winter teaches stillness and inner visioning; Spring initiates renewal and forward movement; Summer cultivates radiance and expression; Fall invites integration and letting go. These four programs weave together to form a living, year-round path of embodied transformation, supported by an ongoing community that travels through the Wheel together. Whether you join for a single season or move through all four, you’re entering ancient lineages of cyclical living (that you’ve always been apart of) - a return to Earth’s ancient technologies for healing, creativity, empowerment, and remembering who you are.

Live Gatherings

Weekly or bi-weekly live sessions (based on final group size) including movement, teaching, integration, and community connection. Replays included.

Movement & Meditation Library

Pre-recorded winter practices: yin flows, breathwork, grounding meditations, joint mobility, and somatic winter rituals.

Community Space

A private group for sharing experiences, support, and seasonal check-ins.
