Tomorrow, 4-5 p.m., is the second Sacred Mushroom Circle. We’ll be exploring the complex root system of trauma and the many ways in which a healing foundation can be nourished.

Individual → community → society → land → ecosystem

Ecosystem → land → society → community → individual

“Action on behalf of life transforms. Because the relationship between self and the world is reciprocal, it is not a question of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us.” ― Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass.

We’ll be dipping our toes into the importance of indigenous wisdom and looking at some of the ways in which we can create a reciprocal relationship with the “more than human world”, for our own individual healing, and the world around us. In addition, we’ll get a deeper insight into how long psilocybin has been a part of human civilization. Personal stories, breathwork, and movement will also be shared. Click the photo below to register for this zoom event. Donations will be going towards a fund that will help low-income individuals receive mushroom medicine.

Next time I’ll share personal stories and experiences of how indigenous culture has helped shape the person that I am today.Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Earth Month

My prayer is that this spring will renew each of our spirits, and awaken us into inspirational action. Here is an amazing tool- kit shared by EarthDay.org. They cover ways for individuals, businesses, schools, Universities, homeowners, professors, creators, parents, non-profits, and many more different groups, to invest in our planet.

Some personal ways that I will be taking action is continuing to get to know the native peoples, flora, fauna, waterways, and insects of the land that I live on. Don’t know much about the indigenous people’s land that you’re living on? Find out what territory you live in with this awesome tool by Native Land Digital. Afterward, google to see if the local indigenous peoples in your area are having any public events (these are of course just suggestions). I’ll be going to a Wabanaki event at my community center this week! As well as studying local edibles in our forests here in Maine, and plants that I can plant to help pollinators thrive.

At the beginning of the day, there’s always so much to do, and it seems to be that way at the end too. Just remember, that none of us can do EVERYTHING. We each have a beautiful and unique role to play on this Earth. May your life be a sacred walking prayer that co-creates reciprocity in all environments you share.

Coming Back to Breath

Here’s your friendly reminder to take a few moments out of each of your days to intentionally breath. We live in such a fast pace world with so many responsibilities on our shoulders that we often forget to breathe. In fact, scientific studies have shown that we restrict our breath, meaning we’re not getting enough oxygen and blood flow which is why anxiety and stress become so prevalent in the mind and body (aches & pains can be created this way). Just. Breathe. and so many benefits will come to you. One of my favorite breathing techniques is called Nadi Shodhana Pranayama, Alternate Nostril Breathing. We practiced this in the first Sacred Mushroom Circle and will be doing so again tomorrow.

I’m re-launching online yoga classes next new moon, where we will explore breathing deeper. In the meantime, here’s a great video showing you how to practice Nadi Shodhana. Enjoy this energizing, healing Full Moon in Libra!

“This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of a significant other, and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability.” Cafe Astrology
